General Labourer

We are currently seeking full-time General Labourers at our 45,000 square foot production facility just off Hwy 36 in Lindsay, Ontario.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK SHIFTS ON A ROTATING BASIS. TYPICAL SHIFTS ARE 8.5 HOURS STARTING BETWEEN 6:00 AM AND NOON AS WELL AS SATURDAY SHIFTS FROM SEPTEMBER TO DECEMBER.

No prior experience needed. We will train you!

Our ideal candidate is punctual and hardworking with excellent attendance and is comfortable working with food on a fast-paced production line.

Duties:

  • Feeding raw material onto production lines
  • Support mixing, portioning and pack line machines, as required

  • Follow established safety rules and regulations

AZ Truck Driver – Part Time/Relief

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Casual/Part Time Truck Driver at our 45,000 square foot production facility just off Hwy 36 in Lindsay, Ontario.

DUTIES

This position is responsible for ensuring the transfer of cheese and inventory stock is accomplished safely, efficiently and in a manner that does not expose Mariposa to risk. This position reports to the Shipping Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and drive a zero incident safety culture, by providing a proactive safe work environment through an effective health and safety program. Safety MUST be the highest priority.
  • Ensure Vemag carts of cheese are moved from loading room at St. David Street location into the shunt trailer and transported to St. George Street location.
  • Ensure cleaned Vemag carts are returned from St. George Street location to St. David Street location as per the Cheesemaking schedule.
  • Transport, load and unload inventory between St. George Street location and St. David Street location.
  • Ensure that trucks and trailers are washed regularly as per SOP.
  • Transport inventory to Finica Food Specialties in the GTA.
  • Assist on plant production line, as needed.
  • Assist, if necessary, in goat and sheep milk pickups from Lenberg Farms.
  • Assist in data entry for Production Supervisor pertaining to cheese making record keeping.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • AZ licence.
  • Clean driving record for at least three (3) years.
  • Available to work shifts (including Friday evenings, up to 3 hours).
  • Ability to successfully complete a Milk Grader Transport course after commencing employment.
  • Heightened awareness of GMPs for dairy movement.

Accounting Clerk

Job Description

The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for the performance of a wide range of duties from backroom calculations to front desk customer service. Responsibilities will include posting the day’s receipts, filing and tallying deposits, coding, totaling, batching, entering, verifying and reconciling transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, cheque requisitions, and bank statements. Other responsibilities will include the compilation of budget data and documents based on estimated revenues, expenses and previous budgets, and the performance of related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Code, total, batch, enter, verify and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, cheque requisitions, and bank statements.
  • Calculates, prepares and issues documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements.
  • Contacts individuals with delinquent accounts.
  • Provides customer service, accepting payments or providing refunds.
  • Responds to customer inquiries, maintains good customer relations and solves problems.
  • Maintain up-to-date, complete and systematic filing system to support book-keeping and financial records.
  • Stay current with all regulations, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements and industry trends.
  • Complete monthly reconciliation for all accounts (bank and brokerage accounts).
  • Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and bookkeeping activities.
  • Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree or College Diploma in Accounting required.
  • A minimum of 2 years working experience in accounting is required.
  • Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements.

Assistant Controller

Job Description

The Assistant Controller shall be responsible for assisting the Controller with the management of overall financial operations of Mariposa Dairy Ltd., and will work with the Controller to provide accurate information, including analysis, budgeting, forecasting and preparing financial reports. The Assistant Controller will aid the Controller in directing and managing Mariposa Dairy’s accounting functions, including establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures, preparing financial statements and reporting to management and externally. The Assistant Controller will also maintain the Company’s accounting systems and implement changes as required by the Controller.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Controller in managing the accounting operations including the review of journal entries, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and statutory reporting.
  • Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  • Budgeting and forecasting.
  • Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual operating results for each department. Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
  • Work with the Controller and operations to define, measure, analyze, improve and control current processes which impact customer quality and influence internal operating efficiency.
  • Provide strategic analysis as required to drive improved decision making.
  • Coordinate and support audits, both internal and external, including government and customer audits.
  • Prepare and present financial information for quarterly and annual reports.
  • Assist with the management of foreign exchange transactions.
  • Work with the sales team and the cost accountant on product pricing, costing and margins.
  • Implement and manage internal controls with respect to financial policies, processes and procedures.
  • Provide advice and guidance on all accounting matters including financial systems, record keeping, analysis, and reporting.
  • Assist Controller in setting the priorities within accounting group.
  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements and external reporting to financial institutions, ensuring that all reporting requirements are met.
  • Generate reports of performance against budgets.
  • Support new systems or project selections and implement them from a strategic finance and internal control perspective.
  • Ensure rapid and consistent collection of receivables by refining and implementing control mechanisms.
  • Assign and authorize cheques, purchase orders and invoices.
  • Support the training and mentoring of accounting staff.
  • Other related duties and required or assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in Business/Accounting, with advanced degree or professional accounting designation (such as CA, CPA, CGA, or CMA) preferred.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management.
  • Thorough knowledge of all relevant Federal, Provincial and local requirements.
  • Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are vital to the role.
  • Experience overseeing audits performed by external audit firms.
  • Financial analysis, budgeting and some strategic planning experience.
